Looking Back at 2024: Milestones, Celebrations and Waves We Made

As we dive into 2025, we can’t help looking back at the year and reflecting on the FINtastic milestones, celebrations and waves made in 2024! We spent the year teaching kids to swim and be safer in and around the water… but that’s just the tip of the iceberg! Here are some of our favorite milestones from the year!

World’s Largest Swimming Lesson, A Splashing Success!

This year marked the 15th Annual World’s Largest Swimming Lesson, which brought together 30,324 participants from 415 host locations in 16 countries! We are so proud to have taught 5,765 participants at 67 of our Goldfish Swim School locations across North America. Our schools celebrated BIG by hosting special swim lessons, partnering with local water parks and hosting their very own water safety days.

Over the past 15 years, WLSL has made an incredible impact by introducing swim lessons to over 400,000 participants! We’re truly honored to call WLSL a partner and help them make waves for water safety all around the world.

The Safer Swimmer Pledge, Year 4!

In 2024 we celebrated our 4th Annual Safer Swimmer Pledge with 27,346 pledges! We started the Safer Swimmer Pledge as a way to encourage kiddos and their families to commit to water safety, and the results have been completely amazing! 

As a part of our commitment to water safety, we were proud to donate $30,000 to the USA Swimming Foundation to help support their efforts of providing swim lessons and water safety education to underserved communities. Our friends at Goldfish – Milford received the most pledges in 2024, for the second year in a row! They received 2,280 pledges through their school alone – talk about going above and beyond! We were so excited to celebrate them as they hosted a splash-tastic event with Olympic swimmers Cullen Jones and Ryan Murphy last month!

Making Waves for Water Safety with Every Child A Swimmer

As part of our journey looking back at the year, we had to make sure to make note of one of the most meaningful partnerships we’ve been lucky to build in recent years.Every Child A Swimmer helped us come together to provide swim lessons to children who may not otherwise have had access to them, and we are thrilled to see more Goldfish schools across North America participating in this initiative! 

With the help of Every Child a Swimmer and their fintastic scholarships, our schools were able to provide swim lessons for over 1,030 children in need – WOW!

A BIG Year for Our Friend Ryan Murphy!

2024 has been a big year for our friend and brand ambassador Ryan Murphy, too! Ryan traveled to Paris, officially became a girl dad AND opened his very own Goldfish Swim School with his family in Saint Johns, Florida! With his little one due this month, we’re willing to bet 2025 is going to be his biggest and best year yet!

Setting Golden Goals for 2025

With 2024 now in our rearview mirror, we’ve got our sights set on making an even bigger splash in 2025! Here are our top 5 goals for the new year: 

Teach over 6,000 kiddos for the 2025 World’s Largest Swimming Lesson 

Help over 30,000 kids learn to be safer in and around the water through the Safer Swimmer Pledge 

Celebrate and support Ryan as he becomes a Goldfish Dad

Provide even MORE lessons for children in need with the help of Every Child a Swimmer

Make waves in schools across America every week as we help kids learn valuable water safety skills, impacting the startling drowning statistics

Looking Back at the Year and Starting a New One

We are so grateful to all of our members, communities and partners that helped make 2024 such a FINtastic one! As we look back at the year and look forward to the year ahead, we can’t wait to dive into the new year and continue making a splash for water safety, one lesson at a time!
