It’s also why we’re beyond excited to announce the o-FISH-al launch of our Golden Learners Program – a special initiative designed to support all swimmers, regardless of ability, and teach them how they learn best!

Supporting All Swimmers Through Inclusivity

We know that kiddos grow and thrive at their own pace, and we’re all about celebrating their unique journeys! Our Golden Learners Program is designed with love, care and expert guidance to help children with cognitive, physical or developmental needs feel comfortable, safe and empowered in the water. Because here at Goldfish, we believe that every child should have the chance to make waves!

Expert-Backed Program Built with Love and Knowledge

“We understand that every child learns differently, especially when there are additional needs involved,” says Dr. Molly O’Shea, Neurodivergence expert and official pediatrician for Goldfish Swim School. 

“Our Golden Learners Program curriculum has been a labor of love for all of us at Goldfish Swim School. We have spent years developing this special initiative incorporating top experts, crucial parent feedback, and more to create an effective program to support ALL little swimmers.”

Developed by Experts in Pediatric Therapy and Aquatics

This program has been years in the making, crafted by top water safety and swim experts and refined with the help of a pediatrician, a pediatric occupational therapist and hands-on in-school training. Now, it’s a game-changing inclusive swim program that helps children navigate challenges, celebrate progress and most importantly – have a blast in the pool! 

Of the experts that were consulted, one was especially close to home. Former Goldfish Swim School instructor, Dr. Ashlynn Law, is a pediatric occupational therapist with a lifelong passion for working with children and aquatics. Her work focuses on the effects of aquatic therapy for children with additional needs, making her a golden resource and expert as our team adapted this program into one that would truly be impactful for the kiddos that need it.

A Compassionate Approach with Personalized Techniques

Through personalized instruction, sensory-friendly techniques and a compassionate team of swim instructors, we’re dedicated to helping every kiddo feel safe, supported and excited about swimming. While water safety will always be our #1 priority, we know that feeling confident and having fun are golden!

Breaking Barriers for All Children

“I know the work I do matters because I still encounter parents who ask if we are ‘willing to work’ with children who have additional needs. A parent should never have to ask if their child is welcome or able to be included. I believe it is on us as aquatic professionals to ensure we reduce as many barriers to access as possible so every child can participate,” states Zachary Healy, Director of Regional Operations for multiple Goldfish Swim School locations piloting the Golden Learners program.
