Parent Testimonial: Why We #LOVEgoldfish
When Kim Lotzoff wanted her now 9-year-old son Sam and 6-year-old daughter Sloane to learn to swim, she chose Goldfish Swim School without hesitation.
“We wanted somewhere where they could learn not only how to swim, but learn safety in the water,” Kim said. “We wanted the best and Goldfish definitely met the criteria. There are a lot of places you can go but we wanted somewhere where the instructors would be patient and happy to see them.”
And she’s right: Goldfish Swim School instructors use integrity, compassion and trust to teach kids of all abilities how to swim! We have ways to help kids with special needs learn to swim, and taking lessons at Goldfish Swim School is also beneficial for kids with ADHD. We focus on providing a GOLDEN experience every week!
Effective Lessons
But even beyond that, our swim lessons are streamlined to make the most of your child’s time in the water while focusing on building necessary swim skills and teaching water safety. Kim LOVED knowing our protocol was laid out and consistent.
“I knew how they would become proficient swimmers,” Kim said. “The way you guys teach at Goldfish is different than other places. It gives kids a really good foundation, and they learn to swim at a faster level and a more proficient level.”
Sam and Sloane learned to swim at the Birmingham Goldfish Swim School, where they both advanced through all the levels and graduated – and then Sam joined the Swim Force swim team!
“The instructors are second to none,” Kim said.
Her kids enjoyed their swim lessons, and Kim said it’s because the instructors make the classes fun and exciting for the kids – but also effective, providing extraordinary results.
“If something wasn’t working they would do something else,” Kim said. “They figured out what would work better, because not everything will work for every child. They’d say, ‘Let’s figure something out,’ even if it’s something that’s out-of-the-box a little bit. They figure out how to get that child to learn.”
Learn Water Safety
At Goldfish Swim School, we focus on water safety during every single lesson – which Kim LOVES.
“Even if you don’t necessarily care if your child learns to swim, they need to learn safety in the water, and water awareness in general is something that every child needs to know,” Kim said. “Kids learn how to be safe and handle yourself around water.”
We teach kids how to be safer in and around the water, including how to get in and out of the water safely, how to tread water, and how to take a break to prevent a possible emergency.
“Swimming is one of the most important skills you can have in life,” Kim said.
