Baby Learn & Swim Social Hour - a MONDAY weekly event!

Join us for Baby Learn & Swim Social Hour!

Mondays from 9:00-10:00am

This event is open to both Members and not-yet Members! (and it’s FREE!)

In-water social time for both Parent and Baby (ages 4 months – 35 months).

Bring a friend (or two) and make it even more of a social event!

Goldfish Policies: Non-toilet-trained swimmers must wear a machine-washable reusable swim diaper. All children who can not swim independently will be required to wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket if they are not swimming within arms’ reach of their guardians. Certified lifeguards will be on duty at all times.

Besides being a FINtastic human, Cullen is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to his efforts to shatter stereotypes and help promote diversity and inclusion in swimming.

After a near-drowning experience as a child, Cullen was immediately put in swim lessons, where it quickly became apparent that he had a natural talent as a swimmer.

In his Olympic swimming career, Cullen won 4 medals – earning a Gold Medal in 2008 in the 4×100 Freestyle Relay – also known as the Greatest Relay in Olympic History – then 2 Silver Medals (4x100m freestyle relay and 50m freestyle) and a Gold Medal in 4×100 medley relay at the 2012 games.

He became the first African American man to win a Gold Medal at the World University Games in 2005, and the first Black swimmer to hold a World Record.

And, YOU have the opportunity to meet him in person!

Want to swim while you are here? FINtastic! Pack your swim bag and load the car! We will have an open swim opportunity for anyone who wants to “jump in” as a family and enjoy the 90º Goldfish pool before or after meeting Cullen!

Water Safety Day - FREE Family-Friendly Swim Event!

On Saturday, May 17th from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm, Goldfish Swim School – Waugh Chapel will open its doors to the community for a FREE Celebration of Water Safety! Open to all ages!

Activities include:

· Open pool to enjoy swimming as a family (select your 45-minute swim time and reserve 1 ticket for each swimmer)

· W.A.T.E.R. Safety Passport Activities in and around the pool- with a prize for completion!

· Lobby games and activities for all ages! (There is plenty to do on the dry-side. You don’t have to swim to enjoy Water Safety Day!)

· Local First Responders in attendance to answer questions and offer a touch-a-truck!*

· Snacks provided in the Lobby

Some things to note:

· The Goldfish pool is 4 feet in depth, so most adults can stand and move throughout the water with ease

· We do require a life jacket for all swimmers who can’t swim independently and parents/guardians must stay within arm’s reach of their children at all times. We have a generous life jacket supply in the facility, we encourage you to borrow one while enjoying your swim

· Swimmers who are not yet toilet trained are required to wear a reusable swim diaper (one that you launder in your washer, not a disposable one). We sell approved swim diapers in our Treasure Island Shop if you would like to purchase one upon arrival

· Goldfish offers the following amenities: warm water showers, private changing huts, swimsuit dryers, family-sized restrooms, baby changing tables, and a hair-drying station

· Swimmers will be required to sign a waiver before entering the pool

*Local First Responder’s attendance is contingent upon the absence of an emergency response call.
