Golden Learners
Helpful information about swim lessons for children with disabilities.
At Goldfish, we aim to provide every swimmer a Golden Experience, and to ensure every child feels welcome at our school. We recognize that some children may need a little extra assistance while in our swim lesson program.
Our Golden Learners program provides our teachers with additional training, tools and information to support students with special needs.
- For children with additional needs to overcome their physical, cognitive or neurological barriers in the water
- Help develop water safety and swimming skills, increase self-esteem and physical fitness.
- For swimmer’s 4 months – 12 years of age whose parents or caregivers have identified them as having additional needs, such as but not limited to: anxiety, down syndrome, or autism.
- Lessons can be taught in private, semi-private or group lessons, depending on the swimmer’s individual needs.
Please note, children over the age of 12 years may be accepted to participate in the Golden Learners program at the sole discretion of your individually owned-and-operated Goldfish Swim School, taking into consideration that the lessons are suitable and beneficial for both parties.
