As a parent of a child with a disability, I am always concerned how my child will be treated by service providers. At any given place we can be treated with contempt or compassion. Here at Goldfish Lake Ridge, we have been treated with nothing but respect and compassion. The instructors and managers have been nothing short of miracle workers. They took my child, who at the beginning was apprehensive about the water, and made swimming lessons his favorite activity! I appreciate the special interest the assistant GM Ashley took in my child when he was not improving as quickly. She matched him up in another class with Ruth and my son improved by leaps and bounds. I’ll never forget one instance when I forgot my child’s swimming goggles (which is nothing short of a requirement) and was having a meltdown. Multiple staff members (thank you Ashley, Ruth, and the other nameless heroes) sprang into action, calmed my child down and found a spare set of goggles that he found “acceptable” in order to finish the lesson. This level of service, support, and empathy is what brings me back week after week since they opened two years ago. There are two closer swim schools to our house, but we chose to drive here to Goldfish Lake Ridge. They go the extra mile at every lesson, so I drive the extra mile to get here.
