Leave a ReviewDepending on the instructor and the class your child gets assigned, be prepared for your child to be inconsistently evaluated and be kept in the same class for a long time. There does not appear to be an incentive for the instructors to actually teach the lessons to individual students so the students can advance. The longer that the kids are in lessons, the more money the business can get from parents/guardians. And the students don’t learn any new skills until they move up to the next level. I canceled lessons for my daughter because she would not be allowed to move up from Glider 2. She was in Glider 2 from November 2023 to February 2024 and then Jul 2025 to September 2025. No one looked into why she was in Glider 2 for so long. All I wanted was for my child to learn basic skills to be safe and proficient in the water. At the end of each class the instructor would say “She is just about ready to move up. All she needs is to work on X” and give some off-handed feedback of what tweak she needs to work on. They would say if she does X right next week, she will move up, which would not happen. It usually centered around something to do with the tap tap rollover or the backstroke they have the students do. The star grading system in the app is highly inconsistent, and certainly varies by instructor. I informed the front desk and the instructor of my intentions for my daughter’s lessons, consistently reminding them how long she has been in the same class being taught the same 6 basic lessons usually twice per class (down and back). They would say “Ok, we will schedule her for an evaluation next week.” If the “evaluation” actually was “scheduled”, it ended up being my daughter in her regular class with 3 other students and the one instructor going over the same 6 skills just like a normal class. Another student was pulled out of the class and received an evaluation with another instructor. She moved up to Glider 3 and the feedback was given to her parent that she needs to work on the rollover technique, that she did not perform the skill correctly. My daughter was also supposed to be evaluated during that class after she did not receive an evaluation as promised the week before, yet when the parents were called to pick up the students, I just received the same feedback that she needs to work on her rollover technique, that she can do it, but just went the wrong way. When I went to who I assume is the manager at the front desk, he went to the instructor and the Deck Supervisor. And the Deck Supervisor, who also gave the evaluation to the other student individually and gave the feedback to the parent that the child needed to work on the rollover, came to me and explained why the rollover technique is so important for the students to move up to Glider 3. This was a colossal waste of money for me and my family. I strongly encourage looking into other options for swim lessons which, in my opinion, will likely save money, especially over time, and also provide more comprehensive and tailored instruction to individual students.
