As a lifelong swimmer, he is proud to offer the Goldfish experience to Boston-area children and families. John believes that swimming is not just an activity, but an important life skill. His own experience with the sport began at age five, when he first took up competitive swimming. He then parlayed his skills into a job as a lifeguard and coach before joining the swim team at the University of New Hampshire. Over the course of his college career, he competed at the Division 1 level. John remains an active swimmer to this day and shares his passion for the sport with his wife, who was also a Division 1 swimmer, and their three children. Originally from Birmingham, MI, the city where GSS is headquartered, John learned about Goldfish Swim School through family friends and decided to pursue a Massachusetts location in 2014. Having lived in the Boston region for twelve years, he saw the need in the market for a facility that provided children with specialized education and training in the water. Goldfish will fill that void with its lessons for children that are fun yet structured – a combination that allows them to develop as strong swimmers who are confident in the pool.
