Great swim school. Clean and well organized.

We’ve been attending Goldfish Gowanus for years - it’s the best! Rare to find a facility that scores high on all fronts - wonderful staff and teachers; clean, modern and child-friendly environment; warm pool. Whoever does the hiring and training here deserves a huge shoutout. Every single coach we’ve had has been safe / attentive, kind and patient. My daughter is now in swim force (swim club), and the coaches are great with the older kids too! They encourage them to work hard and keep pushing, but are also playful and fun! Special shoutouts to Omar, Dante, Neo, Jamie, John, Jacob and Xavier. Thank you for being a reliable and fun experience in our lives, Goldfish Swim!

Excellent swim school. I give them 5 stars because the teachers are amazing and the staff is top-notch. My son absolutely loves it here! I also want to highlight their integrity: I once left my tablet behind by mistake, and not only did they call me immediately to put my mind at ease, but they even charged it for me while they waited for me to pick it up. It’s rare to find a place that cares this much about their families. Highly recommended!

We've been attending Goldfish for about 8 months, with 2 children enrolled, after experiencing about a year and a half at Imagine Swimming in Crown Heights, and here are the pros and cons of this studio: PROS: -warm water -transparency to the skills required in each level CONS: -constantly changing staff -impossible to get into new classes when your kid graduates -you can only enroll in a makeup class 24 hours in advance so difficult to plan -impossible to get a seat where you can see your kid swim without competing in an aggressive game to get your bag on a chair first, and then you can sit and watch 80% of the people in that front row to proceed to stare at their phones. -email notifications for new availability leave you with 24 hours to respond (no calls or texts, no in-app notifications) Your kid can learn to swim well at either place, but the culture here is severely lacking.

there is no regulation for adults. everyone comes grandma, grandpa, friends, cousins, uncles, neighbors and that's why there is no room! this should be regulated so that only their parents accompany the children, not the company of 10 people. this is very annoying. however, the staff does a perfect job. they are kind, helpful. the place is also clean and modern! it is a very good school, only that there are 4x more adults than children

I watched my enthusiastic independent swimmer lose confidence and her ability to swim safely over the course of 3 months this fall. We went backward in those 5-10 minutes daily (that is all that's left when you take 30min/4 kids who have to swim 1 at a time for safety) which was painful enough given the price and time to get there, get changed, shower up after etc. but she nearly drowned recently and doesn't even like swimming now. Really they need 1hr classes. All the other reviews are also accurate - rules you are told will change with each interaction. Make ups and scheduling are impossible (but I'm used to it in this neighborhood).
