Work begins on Edmond swim school

EDMOND — Construction started this week on Goldfish Swim School, a 10,400-square-foot facility with an 80-by-25-foot heated pool at 10 NW 146. Enrollment is planned for late spring.

“We don’t have a dedicated indoor pool facility in Edmond to teach our children the proper fundamentals of swimming in a safe and controlled setting, so we just decided to open our very own school,” said owner Natasha Neumann, of Edmond. “I spoke with my investors and friends, and after visiting with the Goldfish Swim School founders in Michigan, we loved what they are doing and decided to develop a state-of-the-art facility in Edmond.”

One-time Detroit Tigers draftee Chris McCuiston co-founded Goldfish Swim School in 2004 with his wife, Jenny, a former champion swimmer with a degree in early childhood education and family studies. They started franchising the schools in 2009 and there now are 65 open or in development in 17 states.
