Our founders, Chris and Jenny McCuiston, created Goldfish Swim School in 2006 to fulfill that purpose in a specialized way – by opening a swim school focused solely on teaching children how to swim and swim safety, and offering those lessons year-round.

As a result, the first Goldfish Swim School franchise opened in 2009 – and the swim school franchise has grown exponentially ever since. We opened our 100th Goldfish Swim School location in January 2020, which speaks for itself: Only 17 percent of franchise brands make it to 100 locations in their lifetime, and only 1 percent of those make it to 100 locations within 10 years.
