What makes a franchisee stand out within our brand? It boils down to three essential traits: humble, hungry, and smart. Successful franchisees possess strong leadership skills, are highly organized, and have a deep commitment to the business. They thrive in competitive environments, know how to manage people effectively, and are always pushing to improve. 

They’re also passionate about creating an atmosphere where kids can have fun and feel safe while learning life-saving swimming skills – something that comes naturally to those who truly believe in our mission. 

The Right Level of Involvement: How Engaged Are Successful Franchisees?

While Goldfish Swim School’s franchisees are not typically in the pools teaching lessons, their role in the day-to-day operations is crucial. The most successful franchisees stay highly engaged with their teams and schools. They maintain close communication with their General and Assistant General Managers and are always available when needed. 

Our most successful franchisees make it a priority to visit their schools regularly, building strong relationships with their staff and creating a collaborative, family-like environment. This hands-on approach helps maintain the quality and culture of the Golden Experience, both for staff and members. 

What Kinds of Backgrounds are Most Common Amongst Successful Franchisees?

Our franchisees come from a variety of backgrounds, but most commonly we see them coming from other franchise brands or from backgrounds in finance, investment/wealth management, or even former C-suite executives looking to transition to a new chapter. Whether they have experience in the corporate world or as business owners, they share a strong drive for success and a desire to make a meaningful impact on their communities.

At Goldfish Swim School, our franchisees are more than just business owners, they’re ambassadors of our brand and our core values. We want to franchise with individuals who share our commitment to excellence, passion for water safety, and dedication to giving our members a Golden Experience. 

Our target audience expects a premium experience, so we’re looking for franchisees who understand the importance of delivering ‘white glove’ service. These franchises need to be attuned to the needs of a high-end demographic and be equipped to manage a team of young adults, typically high school or college-aged, with diverse skill sets and motivations.
