Swim Lesson Levels

Below is a detailed list of our class levels, age requirements and placement requirements…

Class Level Age Requirement Student Placement Requirements
Mini 1 4-12 months No prior swim lesson or aquatic experience required
Gentle introduction to the water
Basic swim and safety skills taught
Great bonding experience for the parent and child
Mini 2 13-35 months No prior swim lesson or aquatic experience required
Gentle introduction to the water
Basic swim and safety skills taught
Great bonding experience for the parent and child
Mini Junior*
*Advanced Semi-Private class for our little ones.
18-35 months Student needs to be comfortable underwater
Student needs to be able to dog paddle swim 3 ft. independently
Student must be evaluated and approved by our Deck Supervisor before being booked into this class
Junior 1 3-4 years No previous swim lesson or aquatic experience required
Introduction to the basic skills necessary for swimming
Perfect class for nervous students or very beginner swimmers
Junior 2 3-4 years Student needs to be comfortable underwater
Student needs to be able to swim 5 feet independently
Student is unable to get an independent breath
Student is unable to Starfish float independently
Student is unable to Jellyfish float independently
Junior 3 3-4 years Student is able to Jellyfish and Starfish float for 5 seconds independently
Student is able to roll over for a breath independently
Student is able to swim 10 feet independently
Beginner 5 years & up No previous swim lesson or aquatic experience necessary
Introduction to the basic skills necessary for swimming
Perfect class for nervous students or very beginners
Glider 4 years & up Student is able to roll over for a breath independently
Student is able to Jellyfish and Starfish float for 10 seconds independently
Student is able to swim 10 feet independently
Student is able to circle swim continuously w/ rollover breaths
Star 4 years & up Student needs be able to swim with 3 consecutive rollover breaths
Student needs to be able to swim 1 width of basic freestyle w/ rollover breaths
Student needs to be able to swim 1 width of elementary backstroke
Student needs to be able to Starfish float for 10 seconds
Pro 4 years & up Student is able to do 3 consecutive rolling breaths
Student is able to swim 2 widths of basic freestyle w/ rolling breaths
Student is able to swim 2 widths of elementary backstroke
Student is able to swim 2 widths of basic backstroke
Student is able to perform the basic breastroke kick
